Our **black stropping compound** is an ultra-fine abrasive. This compound leaves you with a nice high-gloss finish and ensures that you will end up with sharp results even faster when using your strop.

This stropping compound corresponds with a grain 10.000 synthetic sharpening stone. Do, however, keep in mind that despite the fact that this stone can be compared to a 10.000 grain sharpening stone, you will hardly remove any material. It won't sharpen your knife, it will polish it.

## Compound
With our stropping compounds you make your stropping paddle or stropping belt even more effective. They are available in multiple different grain sizes. From coarse to ultra-fine.

* Ultra-fine (approximately grain 10.000)

## Applying the compound
Before use, we recommend heating up the strop and compound first. On your heater or with a hair dryer, for instance. Do, however, always make sure the strop won't become too hot! Afterwards you add the compound to the strop. Like a crayon. A small layer is enough. The compound will stay in place for months. As such you don't have to apply a new layer of compound every time you wish to use the strop.

## Stropping
Stropping is the final step in the sharpening process. It is also an indispensable step if you are looking for ultimate sharpness and a shiny edge! As you strop the edge of your knife you remove the smallest burrs, scratches and other imperfections that emerged as you used your sharpening stone. That is why stropping will only work if your knife is already really sharp. To make stropping on a leather strop even more effective, you use a so-called stropping compound or stropping paste. This is an extremely fine polishing agent that ensures you will end up with incredibly sharp results even faster.
