The **Stropping Paddle rough** is a large strop to strop your entire knife collection. Both sides of this strop are enhanced with a rough leather surface. The strop is 29 cm long and 6 cm wide. Due to its size you can also use this strop on larger knives such as kitchen knives and machetes. The core and also the handle of the strop is made of Oriental plane wood.

Our strops are bare upon delivery. This means that they do not include a stropping compound or diamond paste. As such you can decide which stropping compound you prefer. For this rough strop we recommend using a stropping compound. The rough surface of the strop nicely holds the compound. You can also use diamond pastes and other sprays on the rough surface.

As you strop the edge of your knife you remove the smallest burrs, scratches and other imperfections that emerged as you used your sharpening stone. That is why stropping will only work if your knife is already really sharp. To make stropping on a leather strop even more effective, you use a so-called stropping compound or stropping paste. This is an extremely fine polishing agent that ensures you will end up with incredibly sharp results even faster.
